After decades of nothing happening in the field of cycle tracking, natural family planning – in the field of female health products in general – a real trend has emerged in recent years. Thanks to better technical possibilities, but also due to the increased interest of consumers in this kind of products and some courageous manufacturers, there is now a wide range of different possibilities to deal with one’s own body and cycle and to recognise when, for example, ovulation takes place.
The fact that we are not alone with the idea of knowing and understanding our own bodies makes us incredibly happy, because anyone who knows trackle knows that for us, information and self-determination are inseparable. Knowledge empowers us, knowledge makes us independent. Getting the processes in the female body out of the taboo zone was long overdue.
We think that includes knowing what to look for: Knowing what you’re getting into.
For those of you who have lost track of the various possibilities for cycle tracking, here is a short overview of the variants that you can find on the market at the moment.
By assuming that female cycles function similarly on average (comparable length, ovulation approximately in the middle), they can give clues to the cycle progression. They usually use a mixture of statistical values and previous cycles. However, the time of ovulation can also vary considerably from woman to woman and from cycle to cycle, so that a purely statistical evaluation can be too inaccurate.
Digital technology also makes the classic temperature method, i.e. taking the body temperature in the morning after getting up, easier. While most women who use the classic temperature method used to have to evaluate their cycles by hand after taking their temperature, some providers now support their customers with smart thermometers. These can usually be linked to an app or another reading device and help with the evaluation of the temperature curves or take them over completely.
In order to make the application easy and the evaluation as accurate as possible, some manufacturers have developed their own devices to help women monitor their cycles. This goes beyond simply recording body temperature and includes other parameters – things like pulse rate, skin tension, breath etc. can also play a role here.
trackle belongs to the latter category, i.e. it is a separate device that measures body temperature and evaluates the cycle. Because we wanted to offer the greatest possible safety in the parameters according to which trackle evaluates, trackle relies on a method that has been around for a very long time and is super researched: the symptothermal method.
This means: trackle uses body CORE temperature and not surface temperature, which can be subject to greater fluctuations.
In addition, according to the rules of the symptothermal method, trackle uses at least one further parameter to determine fertility, namely the cervical mucus. This means that ovulation detection is doubly safeguarded. The sensor simply records the basal value during the sleep phase and transmits it to the app after getting up, so that the error-prone, punctual measurement in the morning at the same time each day is no longer necessary.
This means that the evaluations of the trackle system are particularly precise and exact – and the application is very simple because the data transmission works wirelessly.
With trackle, monitoring your cycle is child’s play. Thanks to the precise temperature measurement and the sophisticated app, you always know your exact cycle status.
