Can I use trackle for contraception?

trackle is approved as a class IIb medical device as a contraceptive. Not everyone can simply call themselves contraceptives, for this the strict European guidelines must be observed. The whole thing is checked and permanently monitored by a notified body.

With trackle, neither does the pill have a hormonal effect cycle intervened, there is still a barrier function - as with condoms, for example.

Prevention is possible because the trackle contraceptive computer helps the users to make the sympthothermal method easier to use in everyday life and to get to know their own body and cycle. With the Symptothermal Method fertile and infertile days can be reliably distinguished from each other.

In other words, you know when you can get pregnant and when not. And you also know when you need to use additional contraception and when not.

How safe is it to use the trackle birth control computer?

The Sympothermal Method has a so-called perfect use (no vaginal intercourse during the fertile period). Pearl Index from 0.4. For protected traffic, the Pearl Index is 0.6. Reliable application of the method is also important for this – that means a sufficient amount of basal values and conscientious observation of the cervical mucus. trackle adheres to the strict rules of the symptothermal method when determining the fertile and infertile days. How can I prevent if trackle shows me "fertile"?

If you do not want to go without sex during the fertile days, but also do not want to become pregnant, you must use additional contraception. If I wear trackle during sex, will it prevent me from getting pregnant?

When can I safely have unprotected sex?

After in the current cycle ovulation has been evaluated, the day of ovulation is marked in yellow in the view and your fertile window appears in blue. These are always the four days before, the day of ovulation itself and the three days after ovulation. The egg cell can be fertilized for 18 hours after ovulation, so it has a much shorter time window than the sperm. That's why only half of the third day is marked blue in the evaluation: You can safely have unprotected sex again from the evening of the third day after ovulation.

Is trackle also suitable for contraception with irregular cycles?

The Sympothermal Method - and thus also the trackle - is based on the observations of your physical symptoms. So trackle does not calculate based on statistics, but in each cycle new the day of your ovulation. Therefore, trackle is also suitable for contraception in the case of irregular cycles: The trackle contraceptive computer always protects itself at least twice before an infertile period is displayed to you. 

The forecasts are calculated based on your previous cycles. It will become more and more accurate over time, but it is only a forecast. Before you have unprotected sex, you should wait for the actual evaluation of the current cycle.

Does trackle need an adjustment phase?

No, you can start directly. The evaluation is reliable from the first cycle, as trackle only calculates ovulation based on your body signals. You can enter your last menstruation in the app or simply wait until the next one. In the meantime, however, you can already measure to familiarize yourself with the routine.

Does trackle need any more input apart from the temperature for contraception?

trackle scores according to the rules of Symptothermal Method and therefore needs your information on the temperature in addition to the high temperature Zervixschleim and a cervical mucus peak. 

It is best to observe the cervical mucus at the entrance to the vagina several times a day, for example every time you have to go to the toilet, and pay attention to what you feel, sense and see. In the evening you enter the highest quality in the app that you observed during the day.

Can I use trackle as a contraceptive if I'm a shift worker?

Basically, trackle is about wearing the sensor when you sleep. This means, the trackle contraceptive computer is practical for shift work, because the time when you sleep doesn't matter. Basically, a basal value can be determined as soon as you have slept for 4 hours. 

Theoretically, it can happen in individual cases that the changed time of day has an influence on the measured value - but this is not the case for every woman. In this case, you can enter a disruption for the day in the trackle app - this will exclude the value and not take it into account for the evaluation.

Can I use the trackle contraceptive computer if I am breastfeeding?

During the breastfeeding period, there is initially no cycle takes place or it takes time until the first ovulation takes place again (depending on the release of the hormone prolactin). During this time you have to assume that you are fertile.

But you can during this time trackle Use to see when your cycle is returning to normal. 

For the evaluation (and also for forecasts for the next cycle), trackle needs a complete cycle (i.e. from the first day of menstruation to the first day of the next menstruation with an ovulation measured and recognized by trackle in between).

Can I use trackle immediately after stopping the pill?

After stopping hormonal contraceptives such as the pill, the spiral or the hormone patch, your body needs time to "level out" again and that takes different amounts of time depending on the woman. You can still use the trackle contraceptive computer immediately after stopping to monitor your cycle.

For a reliable evaluation (and also for forecasts for the next cycle), however, trackle needs a complete cycle (i.e. from the first day of menstruation to the first day of the next menstruation with an ovulation measured and recognized by trackle in between). 

If you have bleeding after stopping (= withdrawal bleeding), you can enter this bleeding as your first menstruation in the trackle app.

Can I use the trackle contraceptive computer if I have short/restless nights?

trackle is also practical for short or restless nights. A total of 4 hours of sleep per night is required for a basal value can be determined. The basal value is the lowest value that is measured during the night - this is usually reached during deep sleep. So it doesn't matter if you wake up in between.

If a value falls out of line, it can be marked as a fault and thus excluded from the evaluation.

Can I use the trackle contraceptive computer during menopause?

The body changes during menopause. Due to the hormonal changes during menopause, the cycle can become very irregular. Also the probability of one cycle without ovulation is significantly higher during this period.

Of the trackle contraceptive computer can be helpful, especially during menopause, to observe the changing cycle and ovulation. trackle evaluates your cycle using the symptothermal method - in other words, every day your data is used to check whether ovulation has already taken place or not. Reliable contraception is only possible, however, as long as ovulation does not fail to occur too often and the cycles are not too long. But trackle knows this and also takes the cycle length into account when displaying the infertile period. Very important: trackle does not replace a visit to the doctor.

Can I also use trackle for contraception with PCOS?

The use of trackle can be particularly useful for PCOS: Since trackle does not calculate on a calendar basis, but calculates anew every day using your data and your personal entries, you can use trackle for all types of cycles, even very irregular cycles. 

trackle helps you to understand whether ovulation has actually taken place or not. 

However, menstruation is a prerequisite, because without a registered bleeding, trackle cannot cycle begin or end and therefore not evaluate. 

You can also discuss trackle's cycle recordings with your doctor to find out if you see any regularities. It is important that the trackle contraceptive computer does not replace a visit to the doctor, but only offers an additional possibility to track your cycle.

Can I use trackle as a contraceptive if I have a thyroid disorder?

The hormones of the thyroid also have an influence on the hormones of the cycle. Therefore, an untreated thyroid disease can lead to the menstrual cycle being influenced and ovulation not occurring, for example. 

So if you don't have a cycle due to your lack of thyroid hormones and you never ovulate at all, then trackle cannot be used.
